Our Pups

We love making it possible for families to enjoy and have a doxie or two in their home.  We strive to provide well bred, healthy examples of the breed.

Pups are raised in our home under our feet with their parents.

At this time we only have long coats.

EACH PUP WILL BE UP TO DATE ON VACCINES, VET HEALTH CHECKED, DEWORMED, AND  SOCIALIZED. PUPS ARE WHELPED IN MY BEDROOM. AT ABOUT 3 WEEKS PUPS ARE MOVED TO A PEN WHERE THEY CAN BE WITH THE FAMILY AND THE OTHER DOGS. WHEN THEY OPEN THEIR EYES, PEE PAD TRAINING IS STARTED AND THEY ARE SWITCHED TO A LITTER BOX AT 3 WEEKS. AFTER 6 WEEKS, I START TO TRAIN THEM OUTSIDE. I CANNOT GUARANTEE THEY WILL BE COMPLETELY TRAINED BY THE TIME THEY LEAVE US. A NEW SCHEDULE FOR FEEDING AND GOING OUTSIDE CAN THROW THEM OFF FOR A BIT.

WE DO OCCASIONALLY  HAVE A PUP THAT GROWS UP TO BE OVER THE 11-POUND LIMIT. MINIATURES WERE CREATED BY SELECTIVE BREEDING OF SMALL DOXIES FROM THE STANDARD SIZE.  SO THE POSSIBILITY OF PRODUCING A LARGER PUP ALWAYS GENETICALLY EXISTS. WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THIS.

FAQ

Things to do before your new puppy arrives.

Dachshunds are playful and curious dogs that learn quickly. They do best if you are consistent and stick to a schedule for feeding and potty time. It will take lots of patience.

You will need to puppy proof your home. Any plastic, food, or cords should be picked up. They will chew on anything laying within their reach. They can choke or get shocked, or just straight up ruin your best charging cords. We will not discuss how many cords I have had to replace even though I thought they were out of their range.  Provide them with chew sticks and toys to teeth on instead.

Be aware of any plants that may be poisonous. They may include Tulips, Sago Palm, Oleander, Lilly of the Valley, Philodendrons, Azaleas, and more.

Make sure not to feed any of the following foods to your dog. Apple seeds, Apricot pits, Avocados, Cherry pits, Chocolate, Coffee, Garlic, Grapes, Gum, Macadamia nuts, Mushroom plants, Mustard seeds, Onions, Peach pits, Raisins, Salt, Walnuts, and Xylitol. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener found in gums, candies, and foods that is very toxic to pets.

You may want to purchase door gates to keep your doxie out of some rooms.

Find a veterinarian to check your puppy over and to continue shots.

Research foods and pick a puppy formula that you feel suits your puppy.
